Sydney Carfagno

Head Coach 12's

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Sydney grew up playing volleyball. Following her older sister’s example, Sydney began playing volleyball when she was 10 years old. She played club volleyball for seven years at Sports Shack Volleyball Club, including winning gold in 18-Open at Junior Nationals in 2011. Sydney later graduated from Wellesley College near Boston, MA in 2015. She played all four years as an Outside Hitter, and was a four-time first team all-conference, four-time all-region, as well as four-time all-American selection.

As a Campbell Hall alumnus, her high school coach Jesse Quiroz — affectionately known as Coach Q — is who inspired her passion for coaching. He demonstrated how both on and off the court, sports and teamwork can bring people together and help build the individuals they go on to become later in life even after their athletic careers may have ended. Her senior year as a team captain, Campbell Hall went on to win the volleyball program’s first CIF Championship under his guidance and inspiration. Coach Q’s everlasting impression not only on her as a player but also the school, is what drove her to return to coach at Campbell Hall, where she currently serves as the assistant varsity volleyball coach for both the boys’ and girls’ volleyball programs. Sydney has also previously coached club volleyball at Sunshine Volleyball Club.
